Vt. airport searching for contractor to repair mountain lights

Officials at Rutland-Southern Vermont Regional Airport are searching for a contractor to repair four broken mountain obstruction lights.
Airport Manager Chris Beitzel tells the Rutland Herald the lights were knocked out by a recent storm. The lights help pilots see where the ridgelines are during night flights.
Crews will have to hike up a steep, wooded area to repair the lights. The airport hasn't received a response from two proposal requests.
It's unclear how much the project will cost. The airport doesn't track the number of night flights because it doesn't have a tower.
