A LANKY lag had an extra-long bed made for him in a jail woodwork class.
The prisoner — who stands at well over 6ft — moaned he couldn’t sleep because his feet were dangling over the edge of his cell scratcher.
Fellow inmates built the custom-made frame so he could get a good night’s kip at Shotts nick.
In their latest report on the Lanarkshire jail, inspectors praised bosses for helping out the tall con.
But they also slammed the quality of bedding dished out to offenders.

David Strang, Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Prisons for Scotland, wrote: “The quality of mattresses and pillows should be reviewed as they were very thin and required replacement.
“We came across a taller prisoner who had a longer bed made for him in the workshop. This constituted an area of good practice, however, it appeared to be a one-off.”
