Car Crashes Into Wayne Kmart

The driver suffered a head injury when she crashed into the store Tuesday, police said.

WAYNE, N.J. — A woman was hurt when she crashed her car into the Kmart on Hamburg Turnpike Tuesday night, police said.

Police responded to the crash at 5:40 p.m. and found the woman bleeding slightly from her head and complaining of abdominal pain, said Detective Capt. Laurence Martin. She reportedly hit her head against the windshield when the crash occurred. The car's front end was severely damaged and its air bags deployed. She was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson, Martin said.

Police traffic investigators found no skid marks or other evidence that the woman tried to stop the car before she crashed, Martin said.
