In the third singles match of their Federation Cup World Group II match-up, Latvia's Anastasija Sevastova defeated on Sunday Slovakia's Rebeka Sramkova 6-3, 6-2 to give Latvia a 3-0 win over Slovakia.

With the win, Latvia will now have the opportunity to be promoted to the World Group I in April with one of the losers of the World Group I losers, while Slovakia will fight to remain in World Group II.

As reported  on Saturday, Sevastova defeated Slovakia's Anna Schmiedlova 6-4, 6-0.

At the moment, Sevastova is ranked 11th in the WTA rankings, while Schmiedlova is ranked 61st.

In the opening match, Latvia's Alona Ostapenko defeated Slovakia's Rebeka Sramkova 7-5, 6-7, 6-1.

At the moment, Ostapenko is ranked 22nd in the WTA rankings, while Sramkova is ranked 188th.
