Melbourne hosting firm VentraIP acquires Summit Internet's clients

Melbourne-based VentraIP has acquired the hosting and domain name customers of online solution provider Summit Internet.

The acquisition, VentraIP’s fourth this year, will see about 400 customers transferred to the business, constituting more than 1000 hosting and domain name services, while Summit will continue with its core business of telecommunications and enterprise connectivity.

“Unlike most of the other acquisitions we’ve done in the past, the customers of Summit Internet are premium business customers and we’re very pleased to be able to welcome them to the VentraIP Australia family where they will now receive 24x7 technical support offered by our local team,” VentraIP Australia chief executive Angelo Giuffrida said.

Summit Internet chief executive Greg Lipschitz said VentraIP had led the way in shared hosting and domain names for some time in Australia.

“It is their core business and they are the best at it. We want to ensure that our customers have the best service and experience possible,” Lipschitz said.

“Our core focus is on our data and voice products, including expanding our carrier fixed wireless network Australia wide. Knowing that VentraIP are looking after the shared hosting gives us the time to focus at what we're best at.”

VentraIP’s Giuffrida said more acquisitions were on the way as it seeks growth amid considerable consolidation in the hosting market.

“We are currently working on others with hopes that we will close them before the end of the financial year. We continue to prove ourselves as a fantastic integrator for acquisitions, but we are also perusing growth through new marketing channels which includes our first radio advertising campaign which is currently on the air in Melbourne,” he said.

VentraIP’s 2018 acquisition spree has already included On A Cloud, Spiderweb Hosting and Boot Domains, which were folded into the company following customer transferrals.

In January last year, VentraIP acquired Brisbane's Web Access along with 3000 customers and 8000 services, allowing the company to expand into managed services. That was followed up in July when VentraIP acquired 1500 customers from one-man hosting provider Profound Hosting.

VentraIP also gained 4000 shared web hosting customers from Servers Australia in exchange for marketing the company's dedicated servers.
