Man dies following wreck Saturday on I-81 North in Montgomery County

A person died in a four-vehicle accident Saturday on Interstate 81 in Montgomery County.

The accident happened around 8:55 a.m. Saturday at mile marker 128 on I-81 North.

Milton Sheesley, 22, of Amissville, Virginia, died in the accident. He was a passenger in a 2005 Toyota Avalon.

The driver of a 2014 Jeep, Lois M. Williams-Brown of Ocala, Florida, was charged with reckless driving. State police say she was headed north on I-81 when she stopped her Jeep in the left lane.

News release from Virginia State Police:

Virginia State Police Trooper D. D. Dunford is investigating a four-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on November 12, 2016 at 8:55 am.  The crash was on Interstate 81 at the 128.1 mile marker, just north of Route 603 in Montgomery County.

 

A 2014 Jeep Compass was traveling north on Interstate 81 in the left lane.  The 2014 Jeep stopped in the roadway, causing a 2007 Toyota Scion and a 2005 Toyota Avalon to stop in the travel lane.  A 2006 Toyota Tundra, which was also traveling north, struck the 2005 Toyota Avalon, causing it to strike the other vehicles.

 

The 2014 Jeep was driven by Lois M. Williams-Brown, 69, of Ocala, FL.  Ms. Williams-Brown was wearing her seatbelt and was transported for injuries received in the crash.

 

The 2007 Toyota Scion was driven by Danny W. Todd, 20, of Laurel Springs, NC.  Mr. Todd was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured.

 

The 2005 Toyota Avalon was driven by Megan D. Sheesley, 18, of Amissville, VA.  Ms. Sheesley was wearing her seatbelt and was transported for injuries received in the crash.  The passengers in the vehicle were Dianna L. Sheesley, 55, and Milton M. Sheesley, 22, of Amissville, VA.  Dianna Sheesley was wearing her seatbelt and was also transported for injuries received in the crash.  Milton Sheesley was wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene.

 

The 2006 Toyota Tundra was driven by Andrew W. Velo, 48, of Galena, IL.  Mr. Velo was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured.

 

The driver of the 2014 Jeep, Lois M. Williams-Brown was charged with Reckless Driving for stopping in the roadway.

 

The crash remains under investigation.
