HYANNIS, MA – Two men were arrested Wednesday following the attempted armed robbery of a teenage boy in Hyannis, police said. The 15-year-old was selling an iPhone and had made arrangements on a selling app to meet the buyer on West Main Street.

The buyer arrived in a car and showed the teen a white-framed handgun in an attempt to take the phone, according to police. The teen fled the area without giving up his phone. He reported the robbery around 7:15 p.m. and described the suspect and vehicle, which had four people inside, police said.

Police identified 20-year-old Terron Jackson, of Harwich, and 20-year-old Dereck Gonsalves, of West Yarmouth, as the two main suspects and found a gun matching the description of the weapon in the car, according to a police statement.
