Eleanor Teigen

Eleanor Gladys Haugtvedt was born November 15, 1924, to Hans and Annie (Olson) Haugtvedt in Sharon, ND. After graduating from high school, Eleanor worked as a nursing assistant at St. Luke's in Duluth, MN, and the hospital in Sharon. On January 25, 1947, in Finley, ND, she married Kermit P. Teigen and they were blessed with four sons.

Eleanor was an accomplished baker and there were always extra children at the house to enjoy her cookies, buns and other baked goodies. She loved spending time at her cottage at Lake Lida, swimming, fishing and playing cards. Her travels took her to many places, California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Mexico and Norway. Eleanor was very proud of her Norwegian heritage and made and served lefse, rommegrot, the best gravy, and the dreaded lutefisk!

Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life. She made sure they each knew they were loved and were special.
