Josh Gordon ruled out for Week 2 at Saints
Some late breaking injury news out of Cleveland is sure to throw a wrench in the Browns’ game plan at New Orleans on Sunday.
According to multiple reports, Josh Gordon has ben ruled out for Week 2 against the Saints.
Gordon dealing with unexpected hamstring injury
Gordon wasn’t on the injury report this week, but apparently wasn’t feeling 100 percent when he arrived at Cleveland’s practice facility on Saturday.
#Browns WR Josh Gordon came into the facility today and complained about his hamstring. Team medical staff checked him out and ruled him out for Sunday, I’m told. Unexpected.

This will leave the Browns with some glaring holes on the roster. Starting linebacker Christian Kirksey (shoulder/ankle) and back up tight end Seth DeValve (hamstring) have also been ruled out for the game as well.
There may be a tendency to blame Gordon’s injury on his late arrival to training camp, but that would be quite the leap.
For starters, it’s not like Gordon wasn’t working out on his own before joining his team prior to Week 1. And if there were any concerns about his health or conditioning, the Browns wouldn’t have used him so heavily — he was on the field for nearly 70 snaps.
Gordon’s strong Week 1
Even without the usual high dose of targets, Gordon still made himself a factor in the Browns’ Week 1 tie against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Gordon hauled in just one pass for 17 yards for a touchdown last Sunday.
Losing any top wideout for a game is going to be a struggle. The Browns are used to not having Gordon around consistently. It’ll be interesting to see just how much this changes Cleveland’s approach this week.
