Delaware CountyĀ Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced Thursday that a Pennsylvania man was arrested Wednesday on drug charges.

According to a media release, Wilbur H. ā€œHerbieā€ Tyrrell,Ā 39,Ā Starlight, was charged withĀ three felony counts of fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. He is accused of selling methamphetamine on two occasions and a quantity of Xanax on another occasionĀ during February and March. The charges were contained in an indictment handed down by aĀ grand jury on May 30.

Deputies said they arrested TyrrellĀ as he attempted to flee on foot across the bridge from the village of Hancock into the state of Pennsylvania.

Tyrrell was additionally charged with the misdemeanor offenses of resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration as result of his attempt to flee from deputies, the release said.

Tyrrell was arraigned in Delaware County Court on Wednesday afternoonĀ and sent to jail without bail pending continuation of his arraignment.
