Tucson Traffic Alert: Fairview Closed After Water Main Break

A 52-year-old water main broke, forcing what's expected to be a two-week closure to replace a 400-foot section.

TUCSON, AZ – If you're planning to travel by Fairview Avenue, you might want to wait. For about two weeks. Tucson Water says that a 52-year-old water main broke.

The water department says that the pipe had been designed to last 50 years.

A 400-foot section of the pipe will have to be replaced. The process will take about two weeks.

Tucson Water says that Fairview Avenue will be closed from Thurber Road to Simmons Road during the process.

They want people to drive carefully while the work is going on.
