Lakewood police arrest assault suspects: police blotter

Assault, Detroit Avenue: Police received a call about 11:46 p.m. April 7 about what sounded like four gunshots and then the witness spotted a group of males fighting. Police responding to the scene arrested two men on charges of disorderly conduct while intoxicated and assault. One of the men had an additional criminal damaging charge added.

Dangerous drugs, McKinley Avenue: Police were called to McKinley at North Marginal Drive about 8 a.m. April 10 regarding a man who was slumped over the steering wheel of his car and unresponsive. While police were on their way, the female caller phoned police back to report the man is now aggressive and angry because the eyewitness called the police. Officers arrested the man for drug abuse.

Driving under suspension, I-90: Police stopped a car about 12:45 a.m. April 12 for driving 5 mph in the high-speed lane of I-90 near the McKinley Road exit. Officers discovered the driver had a flat tire. They also discovered the driver's license was under suspension. Police cited the man for driving under suspension.

Driving under suspension, Hilliard Road: Police found a car broken down in the middle of the intersection of Hilliard and Warren roads. The man driving the car was cited by police for driving while his license was under suspension. His car was towed from the scene.

Petty theft, Edgewater Drive: Police were called to a condominium complex about 4:30 p.m. April 11 about a woman's light blue Trek bicycle that was stolen from a bicycle storage room.

Disorderly conduct, Athens Avenue: Police found a man passed out on a bench on the northeast corner of the intersection of Athens and Richland avenues. Officers cited the man for disorderly conduct while intoxicated and released him to his mother.

Suspicious incident, Cove Avenue: A man told officers about 10:25 p.m. April that he was walking to his girlfriend's Clifton Avenue apartment when three men with masks robbed him of his money. Police said he waited 15 minutes before calling the police and then decided he did not want police help.

Resisting arrest, West Clifton Boulevard: Police approached a driver about 1:15 a.m. April 9 near the intersection of West Clifton and Riverside Drive. The woman was arrested for operating a vehicle while impaired and resisting arrest. Her car was towed from the scene.

Disorderly conduct, Detroit Avenue: Police were called about 4 a.m. April 8 to a Detroit Avenue parking lot. An intoxicated man was lying in the parking lot and refusing to leave. Officers cited the man for disorderly conduct by intoxication.

Petty theft, Brown Road: A resident reported April 8 that a red and black Giant mountain bike was stolen from the family's backyard.

Menacing, Lark Street: Police received a call about 9 a.m. April 8 that a suspect stole a phone from another man and took off running. Police stopped a suspect on nearby Newman. Police charged the suspect with menacing, petty theft, and trespassing.

MVA hit-skip: The owner of a car called police about noon April 8 to report his car had been struck while parked near the intersection of Detroit and Mars avenues. The at-fault driver did not stick around.

Disorderly conduct, W. 117th Street: Police received a call about 10:50 p.m. April 8 about a man trying to open car doors in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant. Officers said the man was intoxicated. They arrested him for disorderly conduct while intoxicated.
