SEE IT: Orphaned baby Chihuahua taken in by mother cat and her kittens

Opposites attract.

An Detroit dog who was left all alone just days after his birth when his mother was fatally hit by a car has been taken in under an unlikely wing — a cat and her litter of kittens.

“They’re pretty young, so they’re growing into their personalities,” Ryan McTigue, of the Michigan Humane Society, told ABC News.

“After he’s big enough, we are going to get him in foster care among dogs, so he can learn to be a dog. He’ll be a good ambassador for both species, that’s for sure.”

Little Bobby, who is just 5-weeks-old, was rescued on April 1 in Bingham Farms in Southfield Township, Oakland County, and brought to the Michigan Humane Society, as reported by ABC.

“The mother had gotten hit by a car, and, unfortunately, she passed away when he was a couple of days old. A puppy that young needs his mother,” McTigue said.

When the tiny Chihuahua mix was taken to the animal rescue shelter, staff decided to see if a cat who was nursing a litter of five kittens may feel a motherly instinct with the orphaned little pup.

The cat, whose name is Gwen, took Bobby right under her paw.

The Michigan Humane Society have been inundated with adoption requests since Bobby's story went viral.

“Gwen, she was very content with all her little guys running around, so it seems like a perfect fit,” McTigue said, adding that staff at the hospital are tending to their medical needs.

“They’ll be in foster care until they’re big enough to find loving homes.”

The video posted to the Humane Society’s Facebook page on April 22 has already amassed over 50,000 views and there’s no shortage of people looking to adopt one of the furry little fellas.
