Troopers in southwest Alaska say they have tentatively identified a missing person after a body was found floating in a nearby river.

According to Alaska State Troopers, the body has been identified as Wassillie Keene, 21, who went missing on Oct. 25, 2018. Bethel AST took the report on April 27.

The body was found floating in the Johnson River, four miles up from the Kuskokwim. Troopers found Keene’s wallet and ID in his pocket.

Keene was last seen on Oct. 24, operating his boat alone near the confluence of the Kasigluk and Johnson Rivers about halfway between the two villages. His boat was later located and recovered.

His body has been transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Anchorage for complete identification.
