Victim identified in fatal Marinette crash

Update as of 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 5th.

The Marinette County Sheriffs Office has identified the victim as 25 year old Tyler G. Walker of Crivitz, Wisconsin.

Walker was pronounced dead at the scene. The identification was made by Marinette County Coroner George Smith.

Marinette County Sheriffs responded Monday around 3 A.M. to a one vehicle crash on St. Hy. 180 just south of Nettleton Road in the town of Porterfield.

Investigation revealed that the vehicle had been northbound when it dropped off onto the shoulder, then veered left, and went all the way across the highway where it hit some trees.

The victim, a lone white man in his mid-20’s who was believed to be residing in Crivitz, sustained fatal injuries from the crash.

Marinette County Coroner pronounced the victim dead on the scene.

His name will be withheld pending the notification of his family.

The crash remains under investigation at this time. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the fatal crash.

Marinette County Sheriffs, Marinette County Coroner, Porterfield Fire Department, Marinette Emergency Rescue, and Bay Area Medical Paramedics assisted at the scene.

This is the 6th traffic fatality in Marinette County in 2018.
