The man and woman were arrested at a Knights Inn in South Greensburg, Westmoreland County, 10 days ago. They now face extradition from western Pennsylvania in connection with the child's death.
Authorities say the child died while she was in the care of Candi Royer and Travis Brown of Virginia. They face charges of abuse and neglect of a child.
At one point, authorities thought Royer was also a missing person. They now think Royer was a willing participant with Brown in what Virginia authorities describe as a crime spree across Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Investigators are still searching for the girl's body near a home in Waynesboro, Virginia.
"It is with great sadness that the search for Khaleesi has now turned into a recovery mission," Augusta County Sheriff Donald Smith said.
