It was a quiet week of football across the state, as most programs had their final bye week before the Thanksgiving Day rivalry games.

The biggest game from Week 11 happened at Sage Park in Berlin, where No. 3/9 New Britain beat No. 4/10 Berlin 33-14 to clinch a spot in the Class LL Tournament.

Elsewhere, Sheehan’s Terrence Bogan continued to roll, as he rushed for 253 yards and five touchdowns in the No. 10 Titans’ 41-17 win over East Haven.

State

1. DARIEN (9-0): Darien had the week off, and will face New Canaan this week. With a win, Darien would likely lock up the top seed in Class LL. Last week: 1.

2. HAND-MADISON (9-0): The Tigers play Guilford this week, and can lock up an undefeated record with the win. They’ve already secured a home quarterfinal berth. LW: 2.

3. GREENWICH (9-0): Greenwich will need to get past a strong Staples program in Week 12 to lock up that undefeated record. It has already punched a ticket to the Class LL Tournament. LW: 3.

4. SHELTON (9-0): The Gaels, currently seeded first in Class LL, have Derby this week, and can secure a home quarterfinal game with a win. LW: 4.

5. ST. JOSEPH-TRUMBULL (8-1): The Cadets will need to beat Trumbull to clinch the top seed in Class M, as they stand at 8-1 entering the final week of play. LW: 5.

6. SOUTHINGTON (9-0): The Blue Knights will face Cheshire in their always-contentious rivalry game on Thanksgiving. Southington has its eyes set on a home quarterfinal. LW: 6.

7. ANSONIA (9-0): The Chargers, like most across the state, had a bye last week, and will face also-undefeated Naugatuck on Thanksgiving. LW: 7.

8. NAUGATUCK (9-0): Naugatuck can wrap up an undefeated season on Thanksgiving Day against Ansonia. The Chargers won last year’s match up 46-28. LW: 9.

9. NEW BRITAIN (9-1): One of two teams in the state top 10 to play last week, New Britain beat Berlin 33-14 behind Shawn Robinson’s 190 yards and two touchdowns. LW: 10.

10. BERLIN (9-1): Berlin’s perfect season is no more, as the Golden Hurricanes came into Sage Park and outplayed the Redcoats in a 33-14 loss. Berlin had previously clinched a Class M playoff berth, however. LW: 8.
