Both teams are known for their defence, so it came as no surprise that this game ended up being a low scoring affair.

The Hornets were able to overcome being held to just 38 points in the first half on 27% shooting for the victory. Detroit's shooting wasn't much better as they struggle from the field, and mainly three-point range finishing the game with a poor 15% from long range.

The Hornets began to pull away in the fourth period as Kemba Walker got hot. Walker went five for nine in the final quarter for 14 of his team-high 25 points.

Nic Batum had his third double-double in a row with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

The Pistons got an all-world effort from Andre Drummond who posted 26 points and 20 rebounds for his 11th 20-20 game since 2012-13.

In their previous matchup Drummond had been ejected from the game after a flagrant-two foul was called when the officials ruled he had elbowed Roy Hibbert to the head purposely.

Charlotte has now reeled off three wins in their last four games, even without Marvin Williams who returned to the lineup after missing the last six games due to a hyper-extended knee.

Williams finished with 12 points and five rebounds.

Next on tap for the Hornets is a date with the Orlando Magic in Charlotte. The Pistons will travel to Minnesota to play the Wolves on Saturday.
