MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Alabama State Troopers are investigating a fatal wreck Tuesday morning, according to Morgan County Sheriff Ana Franklin.

Paul Edward Craft, 57, of Valhermosa Springs, was killed when a 1997 Ford Ranger, in which he was a passenger, left the roadway and struck a tree. We understand the vehicle was hauling vegetables in a pull-behind trailer.  State Troopers say the driver lost control and hit a tree.

Craft was not using a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford, Teresa Mae Conover, 49, also of Valhermosa Springs, was transported to an area hospital for treatment of her injuries

Sheriff Franklin says Talucah Road is shut down between the two Mt. Mariah Circle intersections; Mt. Mariah Circle is being used as a detour in both directions.

Deputies are assisting with traffic control as State Troopers work the wreck.

Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
