Funeral service for Clayton Morlan, 94, Overland Park, Kan., formerly of Cameron, Mo., will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 4, at Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron. He died April 24, 2018.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service.

Burial will follow at 4 p.m. at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Bloomfield.

Donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.

Clayton Morlan was born March 29, 1924, in Pollock, Mo., the son of Harvey and Wineva (Davis) Morlan. He graduated from Green Castle High School in 1942. He earned his bachelor of science and master’s degrees in education from Northeast Missouri State Teaching College (Truman University). He taught for 14 years at Bloomfield High School, Bloomfield, and was assistant principal for three years. He served as the principal at Iowa Valley Community Schools, Marengo, for one year, then was the superintendent for 25 years. He retired with 43 years in education.

Clayton was a World War II veteran, serving as a technical sergeant in the United States Army Air Corps. He served approximately three years as a radio operator gunner on B-17, going on 25 missions.

On June 10, 1966, Clayton married Elizabeth “Betty” (Loy) Fultz. He was a member of the Lions Club, Bloomfield; member and past president of Kiwanis; member of the Iowa Association of School Administration, AASA, National Principal Association, 66-year Masonic Lodge member and worshipful master, 66-year member of Eastern Star and served 10 years as Worthy Patron, member of the American Legion, Missouri, member of the Cameron United Methodist Church and the Church of the Resurrection.

Clayton is survived by one daughter, Janet (Jim) Barnes, Overland Park, Kan.; two sons, Tracy (Donna) Fultz and Terry (Susan) Fultz, Ames; daughter, Connie Fultz (Curt Feller), Ladora; seven grandchildren, Aaron, Shannon, Elizabeth, Danielle, Cerissa, Tyler and Rachel; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; son, Kevin Fultz and a brother, Keith Morlan.
