Pumpkin 'Bomb' Found In Puyallup: Police

The Pierce County bomb squad was called to diffuse the rigged gourd.

PUYALLUP, WA - Some people like to smash pumpkins, others, apparently, like to blow them up.

A local resident came across a pumpkin along the 2200 block of Manorwood Drive recently. The resident noticed that there were two fuses sticking out of the gourd, and so he called police.

The Pierce County bomb squad responded to the scene. They discovered that the two fuses were attached to two fireworks, and so the device was essentially harmless.
