There are apartments that one can own for a relatively small price. Below are five apartments across New York City that are currently up for sale, all under $200,000 and the best part: not all of them are super-small studios. So there you have it, home ownership (in a sense) can be an option for non-millionaires living in New York, if you know where to look.

The space is pretty practical and doesn’t feature any standout details, in terms of design, but the kitchen is pretty big and the building amenities include a fitness center, doorman, and laundry room. The location places you right in the heart of action in up-and-coming Queen’s up-and-coming Jamaica neighborhood.
↑If you don’t mind living a bit further away from a convenient subway station, a two-bedroom co-op in Parkchester is asking $155,000. It boasts a large living room, eat-in galley kitchen, walk-in closet, and plenty of sunlight.
↑Manhattan’s most adorable penthouse is back on the market, and though it has seen a price increase since we last featured it, we’re pretty sure it’s the only penthouse you’ll find on the Upper East Side for $190,000. Don’t let the name fool you, this "penthouse" is really a tiny studio riddled with pre-war details that include a fireplace, decorative ceiling artwork, and an expansive terrace. For whatever reasons, maintenance charges are unreasonably expensive at $1,983/month.
↑For the minimalist, a studio in Brooklyn’s Gravesend neighborhood is going for $139,500. It’s hard to tell just how small or large this studio is, but according to its listing description, there are three large closets so it may not be that bad. There are also stunning hardwood floors and an abundance of sunlight.
↑In Hamilton Heights, a one-bedroom co-op located within a fourth floor walk-up wants $140,000. It’s a lengthy apartment and features with a lot of hallway square footage but the bedroom does accommodate a queen-sized bed and the living room is a decent size.
