Skinny Molly, featuring the former award-winning Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Mike Estes (see right) and guest guitarist Jay Johnson of Blackfoot, play The Seaside Shuffle at Margate's Westcoast with guests Danny Giles band on Saturday (February 27).

The band had to cancel their visit to Margate last summer, but made a promise to return and they are doing so in style with special guest Jay from the influential southern rock band Blackfoot.

Long regarded as one of the South's very best guitarists, Mike Estes originally wrote songs for The Rossington Collins Band and Lynyrd Skynyrd before actually joining Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Mike was subsequently inducted into the Hollywood Hall of Fame and played on the band's legendary 1995 Endangered Species and Southern Knights CDs, as well as on the 100 Minutes of Skynyrd DVD.

Aside from Mike, Skinny Molly comprises former Ricky Skaggs/Al Perkins bass player Luke Bradshaw, top Florida drummer Kurt Pietro and multi guitarist Chris Walker.

Skinny Molly will be playing highlights from their debut CD, No Good Deed, plus the best of Mike's time with Skynyrd including Gimme Three Steps, Call Me The Breeze, Saturday Night Special, Sweet Home Alabama, That Smell, Simple Man, What's Your Name and of course the anthemic Freebird.

Special guests are Danny Giles Band (see pic, above left) who made a big impression on their debut at the Broadstairs Blues Festival.

Since forming in early 2009 The Danny Giles Band has shared the stage with legendary acts such as The Yardbirds, The Nimmo Brothers, Robin Bibi and Carvin Jones.

With Danny Giles on vocals and guitar, Matt Killick on bass and Doug Ryrie on drums, the DGB are a power house trio who shouldn’t be missed.
