A year after opening in Albany, the family-owned iSlice pizza has expanded to a second East Bay location.

The new pizzeria has set up shop at Concord’s Todos Santos Plaza and will offer free sample slices today, Oct. 15, for its official grand opening.

Owner Shiv Gurung, who specializes in New York-style pizza with handmade dough, brings a decade of pizza-making experience to the enterprise.

Naturally, iSlice will sell pizza by the slice as well as whole pies. Yelpsters from New York have been raving about the Albany location, with one “confirmed New York City pizza snob” who ate his first slice in 1959 calling it the “real NYC” deal.

Details: The original location is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday at 1230 Solano Ave. The new Concord place will be open daily, with even longer hours, at 1924 Grant St. — from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. www.isliceonline.com.
