Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo wants 'fifth and sixth' Golden Shoe

Cristiano Ronaldo said he wanted to win the Golden Shoe twice more before he retires as the Real Madrid star collected the prize for Europe's top goal scorer for the fourth time.

Ronaldo took the award as the top scorer across Europe's top leagues in the 2014-15 season with 48 Primera Division goals, a tally that beat his own previous record best of 46 from the 2010-11 campaign.

Winning a fourth Golden Shoe means Ronaldo has more than any other player in history, moving ahead of Barcelona star Lionel Messi, who has won the award three times.

Speaking after being presented with the trophy by Madrid president Florentino Perez at a ceremony in a hotel in the Spanish capital on Tuesday lunchtime, the 30-year-old told reporters that he was always on the search for more goals and more trophies.

"A fourth Golden Shoe is a very big honour and privilege," Ronaldo said. "This trophy is very important for me.

"I am not satisfied. I always want more -- I want a fifth Golden Shoe, a sixth... for that, Real Madrid always has to win trophies, and this year will not be different. We want to win La Liga, the Champions League, the Copa del Rey. I hope we see each other again next year."

Ronaldo thanked his Madrid teammates and medical staff for their support last season.

"I have always liked to work hard, and obviously at a club like Real Madrid, with these players at my side, I have a chance to win prizes like this," he said. "I want to thank my teammates, because without them I would not have the chance to win this trophy. And the physios and everyone who has helped me have a good year physically."

Ronaldo also had special words for those in attendance, including his son Cristiano Junior, agent Jorge Mendes, Madrid coach Rafa Benitez and other family, friends and dignitaries.

"I want to thank everyone who has come here, the Portuguese ambassador, my coach, my president, Real Madrid's fans," he said. "I am happy Cristiano [junior] can see his father, alive, winning this type of thing. Thanks to my mother, my agent, my friends. This is a special moment for me, and for sure for them too."

Former Sporting Lisbon and Manchester United player Ronaldo recently notched his 500th career goal and drew level with Blancos legend Raul Gonzalez as Madrid's highest ever goal scorer during a 2-0 Champions League group win at Malmo.

Ronaldo has scored 10 goals in 12 games for club and country so far in 2015-16, with all of those strikes coming against just three opponents -- Espanyol in La Liga, and Malmo and Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.
