In advance of the upcoming Guardian reveals for Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns, ArenaNet today released a teaser image depicting the boon-happy class with a longbow. Yes, Guardians are actually getting longbows, the ranged weapon we've all been dreaming of.
The picture appeared this morning on various social sites, bearing a hashtag "#GW2HoT" and nothing else. Of course, Guild Wars 2 fans know well enough the image foretells a new Elite Specialization.
The image is, simply put, a male Guardian bearing wings of blue light and wielding a longbow fashioned in the style of Azureflame. Alternatively, this is a bigger version of the Bow of Truth, one of the Guardian class' spirit weapons. The Guild Wars 2 community is already buzzing with speculation over what the new specialization could be. So far, the most popular guess is Paragon, named after the Guild Wars: Nightfall class known for its shouts and boons. Nightfall Paragons would also sprout wings of (golden) light when casting certain abilities, drawing a possible connection to the blue wings seen in today's Guardian teaser.
Expect to hear more later this week. The new Guardian specialization, whatever it may be, will be the second Heart of Thorns class reveal, following the frightening Mesmer Chronomancer.
My brother plays a trapper ranger, and can dish out a lot of PBAOE damage. However, when we both take a beating, healing spring is a lifesaver, when the appropriate combo finisher is placed over the top.
Healing/protection/smiting traps opens up a lot of possibilities for a trapper guardian
