Obituary: Edward Mitchell Keith Jr., 70; Formerly Of Hamden

He spent his career in power generation and energy in Connecticut, retiring in 2011.

Edward Mitchell Keith Jr., 70 of Pocasset, MA, and Estero, FL, and formerly of Hamden, CT, passed away in the comfort of his Florida home on June 28, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Mary (McDonnell Cody) Keith; his daughter Patricia Marie (Keith) Baione, her husband James P. Baione, and their daughters Jocelyn Marie and Juliana Rose of New York, NY; and his brother Joseph W. Keith of Straham, NH. He was predeceased by his parents Edward Sr. and Phyllis (Simon) Keith and his first wife Judith (Lepri) Keith.

Mr. Keith, who family and friends called both Ed and Mitch, was born on July 29, 1947 in Brockton MA. He graduated from Norwich University in Northfield, VT, in 1969, with a BA in General Engineering, and later earned his MBA from the University of New Haven. He spent his career in power generation and energy in Connecticut, retiring in 2011.

He was active with the Wenaumet Bluffs Improvement Association in Pocasset, MA, where he was a former president, was a member of Pocasset Golf Club, and loved spending time on Buzzards Bay in his Black Fin and Boston Whaler boats. He also enjoyed working on cars, particularly Corvettes.

A private service will be held on July 7, 2018, at North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, North Haven followed by interment next to his first wife Judith in All Saints Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 21, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the Cataumet United Methodist Church, 1091 County Rd, Cataumet, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Haven Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 8936, New Haven, CT 06532.
