Florida Dachshund Rescue is hosting their 7th Annual Wienerfest at Lake Lily Park in Maitland on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 10a.m. — 4p.m. Leashed dogs of all breeds are welcome to participate in the festivities. A photo booth will also be available all day to take fall photos of your pet.
Be sure to check out all the items at the Raffle Booth when you arrive. Tickets for raffle items are available at the event and winners must be present to win.
The day begins with races
All purebred doxies are welcome to race in the “Doxie Race.” Doxie wannabe’s, including doxie mixes and other breeds are welcome to race in the “Wanna Be a Doxie” race. Racing begins at 11 a.m. Registration for the races must be completed no later than 6 pm Friday, Oct. 19. No registration will take place the day of the event. You can register at fldrwienerfest.com. The entry fee is $10.
Costume contest in the afternoon
The costume contest is for all breeds and starts at 2:30 p.m. so get there early to register by 2:15 p.m. Cost is $5 per entry per category. Categories include: Funniest, Most Creative, Scariest. There will be a prize for each category.
A variety of vendors and sponsors will be on hand to showcase their products.
