Teenage Girl Dies On Paseo Westpark Road Closed For Investigation

A 17-year-old girl was killed at an Irvine intersection following a crash near Alton Parkway.

IRVINE, CA —A girl, 17, was killed Monday morning in a single-car collision in Irvine, police said.

Police and firefighters were dispatched to the crash scene at Paseo Westpark and San Remo at just after 7:30 a.m. where they reported the girl, the lone occupant inside the vehicle, had struck a traffic pole, said Kim Mohr of the Irvine Police Department.

Paramedics rushed her to an area hospital, where she died from her injuries, Mohr said.

Paseo Westpark, between Alton and Barranca parkways, in Irvine, was temporarily closed to allow police to conduct an investigation.

Irvine police detectives asked anyone who saw the crash to call them at (949) 724-7024.
