VELVA, N.D. -- A 19-year-old Minot man was killed and two others were injured in a two-vehicle collision late Tuesday afternoon in McHenry County.
Authorities identified the driver as Nashdan Podruchny, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Podruchny was driving a northbound Subaru when he lost control of the vehicle and the car rotated and slid into the southbound lane, the North Dakota Highway Patrol said. A Dodge pickup, driven by 41-year-old Brian Lakoduk of Kief, struck the driver’s side door of the Subaru on County Road 7, a mile south of Highway 52.
The pickup driver and a 19-year-old passenger in the Subaru, Kody Strole of Minot, were taken to Trinity Health in Minot for their injuries.
The crash happened around 5:45 p.m.

Podruchny was not wearing a seat belt. The patrol said it was unknown if his passenger was wearing a seat restraint. The driver of the Dodge was wearing a seat belt.
