Fire crews have large grass fire near Gilby, ND under control

Firefighters have been able to gain control of a grass fire east of Gilby, North Dakota.

Fire officials tell Valley News Live that there are a few crews that are still on the scene.

Pictures sent to us by Melanie Grinde, show heavy smoke in the area of Grand Forks County 33 this afternoon.

Hundreds of acres were burning at one time, however, we're told little damage was caused.

It's not known what caused the fire.
