The Wisconsin Vinyl Collective (WVC) is releasing their new album with a special show Friday, April 20 at Gibson Music Hall in Appleton.

The WVC album is a collection of previously unreleased songs by artists with strong Wisconsin ties.  It features local and national acts and raises money for the Keep Wisconsin Warm/Cool Fund.

Volume Two features the Violent Femmes, Tundra Blood, Phox, J-Council, Peridot and many more.

Peridot stopped by Local 5 This Morning Friday ahead of the album release with a special performance.

Lead singer of Peridot Hillary Reynolds is an Appleton native and will be performing at Friday’s album release party in her hometown.

The Keep Wisconsin Warm/Cool Fund is the non-profit benefactor of Wisconsin Vinyl Collective. It is a statewide non-profit charitable effort that steps in and keeps the heat and power on for thousands of elderly, people with disabilities, veterans and working families with young children in crisis. As a result of generous public, private, business and individual support, the fund provides preventative services and the financial assistance necessary to avert energy-related crisis situations.

WVC Volume Two will include never-before-released tracks by 10 artists who range from national acts to local acts throughout the rich Wisconsin music scene including megastars Violent Femmes as well as regional darlings PHOX.

Founded by Erik Kjelland (Stone After Stone Records) and Butch Vig (producer for Garbage, Nirvana, Foo Fighters), the WVC Volume One album was released on April 22, 2017 as an official Record Store Day (RSD) release. Over 40 independent record stores in Wisconsin carried the album along with 130 other stores across the US and Canada. WVC alumni artists include the BoDeans, Cory Chisel & Adriel Denae, Emperors of Wyoming, and Locksley. WVC raised $3,000 for our charity and we are hoping to double this amount in 2018.

Three album release shows are planned for 2018’s WVC Volume Two album.  The first is Friday, April 20 in Appleton, the second is Saturday, April 21 in Milwaukee, and the third is Sunday, April 22 in Madison.  Each will feature performances from artists on the album.
