NEWSOMS, Va. (WAVY) — The search for a missing 34-year-old woman from Southampton County is continuing one week after her disappearance.

Cynthia Carver was last seen by friends and family on Feb. 21.

Officials with the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office said earlier this week evidence suggests Carver, who is a mother of two, did not leave of her own free will.

A knife was found on the floor of Carver’s home on Everett Street, along with several blood stains on the carpet and kitchen floor. Carver’s cellphone, purse and wallet are also missing, officials said.

Based on information from family and friends, officials said Cynthia was supposed to meet someone new the night she was last seen. It’s not known who that person is, but 10 On Your Side has learned investigators requested search warrants for Cynthia’s social media accounts and cellphone records.

Carver’s sister said in a Facebook post Wednesday a search party will meet at the Mount Tabor Baptist Church in Newsoms at 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

Her family will also host a prayer service at the church at 7 p.m.
