TTU Associate Track and Field team coach Thomas to coach USA Jumpers in Europe
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - In his seventh year being the associate head coach of the Texas Tech track and field team, James Thomas is getting the opportunity to help coach jumpers at the national stage.
It was announced Friday morning, that Thomas was selected by USA Track & field as an assistant coach for the 2019 Europe vs. USA Match in September.

Over his seven years at Texas Tech, coach James Thomas has helped establish the Red Raider track and field program as one of the premier destinations of collegiate jumpers.
As he has coached over 60 All-Americans and five national champions.
(All of them are from the high jump)
In a press release sent out by Texas Tech Athletics - Thomas had this to say on getting the chance to coach the nations top jumpers.
"I've been extremely blessed to travel around the nation and the world for many years in this sport thanks to some incredible athletes," Thomas said. "However, there is something uniquely exciting and humbling to be named a coach for Team USA."
Europe vs. USA Match will be held Sept. 9-10 at Dinamo Stadium in Belarus.
