STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.-- Even A-list actor Donnie Wahlberg has encountered Staten Island potholes.
Cast and crew of CBS’s “Blue Bloods” were spotted filming outside a private residence in Huguenot Monday morning. Production trucks lined Arbutus Avenue for a one day shoot on the borough. The scenes filmed on Staten Island will be part of “Blue Bloods” Season 10.
Donnie Wahlberg, who plays Danny Reagan in the show, was spotted on set, sipping a coffee while getting in to drive a Dodge Charger to the driveway of a private residence. Those with knowledge of the production say “Blue Bloods” won’t wrap until the early evening.
“Blue Bloods” is described as an American police procedural drama series, airing on CBS. The show is based in New York City and about a fictional Irish Catholic family -- the Reagan’s. Along with Wahlberg, the show stars Tom Selleck, Bridget Moynahan and Will Estes.
This isn’t the show’s first trip to Staten Island. In 2015, “Blue Bloods” filmed at Wagner College in Grymes Hill. While they have no complaints about the borough, members of the crew say they won’t be back to the borough “for a while.”
ON SET IN STATEN ISLAND
This is just one of the many film sets going down in Staten Island. Projects like the upcoming Hulu series, “Wu-Tang: An American Saga,” and Pete Davidson’s autobiographical movie have been busy filming around the borough in recent months. Amazon Prime’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” also held a one day shoot on Staten Island, using a building on the grounds of Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Gardens as a backdrop.
