New vice chair of research for obstetrics and gynecology named at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health

Sep. 29—LEBANON — Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health (D-HH) has named Daisy Goodman, DNP, MPH, CARN-AP, APRN, CNM, as the vice chair of Research for Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN). In this role, Goodman will provide guidance and support for scholarly and research programs involving OB/GYN faculty, residents and students, promote internal and external collaborations that align with the department's research mission and assist colleagues in pursuing grants and other important funding opportunities for the department.

"I am honored to be asked to fill this valuable role," said Goodman. "With the support of our expert faculty and the D-H Office of Research Operations, I look forward to further developing our research infrastructure with the goal of consistently improving OB/GYN care and patient outcomes."

In addition to her new role, Goodman recently received a $1 million grant from the Rural Community Opioid Response Program, which will fund research to enhance rural systems of care for Upper Valley families impacted by opioid and other substance abuse disorders.

This project, entitled "Weaving the Safety Net: Enhancing Rural Systems of Care for Families Impacted by Opioid and Other Substance Use Disorders," will build on the success of Goodman's previous research on this topic.

With "Weaving the Safety Net," Goodman's team aims to build strong partnerships between Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, pregnant people, first responders, early childhood educators and community organizations. These partnerships will help expand patient-centered recovery support services throughout the Upper Valley.
