LEON, Iowa (AP) — Three people have been killed in a collision between a car and pickup in southern Iowa.
The accident occurred around 5 p.m. Wednesday in northern Decatur County. The Iowa State Patrol says 35-year-old Sherissa Goodman, of Leon was driving east toward Garden Grove when she lost control of her vehicle and swerved into the path of the westbound pickup.
The patrol says Goodman died in the crash, as did her two passengers. They were identified as 31-year-old Charles Downard, of Van Wert, and 3-year-old Shayla Matte, of Leon.
The pickup driver was taken to Decatur County Hospital in Leon. He was identified as 21-year-old Jeremiah Boswell, of Lamoni.
