Basilica SoundScape 2018: Grouper, Haxan Cloak & Nick Zinner, Wax Idols, More

Basilica SoundScape has announced the initial lineup for its 2018 edition. The event will once again take place at Basilica Hudson’s factory in Hudson, New York, this year from September 14-16. The initial lineup features Grouper, producer Haxan Cloak in a “collaborative project” with Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner, Wax Idols, SPELLLING​, Lightning Bolt​, L’Rain, Efrim Menuck (of Godspeed You! Black Emperor), Insect Ark, Usnea, and others. This year’s Basilica SoundScape will also feature the U.S. premiere of an orchestral piece by Stephen O’Malley​ of Sunn O))) titled “Un Vide Dans Le Ciel”.

On June 18, Basilica Soundscape announced additions to its lineup, including: Boy Harsher, Miho Hatori​, Hisham Akira Bharoocha​, and the performance collective FlucT.

Basilica SoundScape is programmed by Basilica Hudson founders and creative directors Melissa Auf der Maur and Tony Stone in collaboration with Brandon Stosuy (former Pitchfork editor and current editor-in-chief of The Creative Independent) and Mike Renaud (former Pitchfork Creative Director). Pitchfork Contributing Editor Jenn Pelly and Sacred Bones Records head Caleb Braaten have been tapped as guest collaborators.
