A man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly barricading himself inside the bathroom of a Northeast Portland pet store with a gun, Portland police said. No one was injured.

Police Lt. Tina Jones said the store was Pets on Broadway, in the 2700 block of Northeast Broadway Street.

A Pets on Broadway employee said no one inside the store was harmed, including the animals, but said store employees did not wish to talk more about what happened.

Officers did not immediately identify the man but said around 4:45 p.m. that they had recovered a gun, and that the man was being assessed by medics.

Police are continuing to investigate the case.
