Apple might be planning a launch of a Jet White iPhone 7

Rumours have been rife that Apple is about to launch a new iPhone 7 in Jet White.

Now an Instagram post, by Apple-owned Beats headphones, has got fans in a frenzy that this rumour is about to become a reality.

The image, which was uploaded over the weekend, shows a pair of Beats sat behind what appears to be a white iPhone 7.

Since the image went live on Instagram it's attracted a lot of attention from people desperate to know if the iPhone is getting a new colour.

One fan wrote on the post: "New iPhone color... jet white?"

However, Beats has been quick to dismiss the speculation telling users the picture is of "a silver iPhone 6."

But many aren't convinced, with a number eagle-eyed Instagrammers saying the phone in the picture has antenna lines that go across the top of the device.

The news comes from sources in Apple's supply chain speaking to Japanese website Macotakara.

The release of a Jet White iPhone 7 would bring the total number of colour choices up to six following the release of the original device back in September.

However the sources did add that they had no details on when the new edition might be released, adding the warning that the information "may be unreliable".

Macotakara has proved a reliable source in the past, however, accurately revealing details such as the Jet Black iPhone 7 and Apple's removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack.

The iconic smartphone has just turned 10 today with .
