Barcelona coach, Ernesto Valverde has renewed his contract recently and Barcelona would like from him to win the treble this season. Ever since Luis Enrique in 2014-15 season, they have not managed to win the Champions League and therefore the treble. They have been winning the Copa Del Rey for 4 consecutive years, but now it's the time to win it all.

#5 The back-bone Sergio Busquets

Since Pep Guardiola introduced him to the first team, he has been one of the most important player. He has been the best defensive midfielder over the past 5-7 years.

"You watch the game, you don't see Busquets. You watch Busquets, you see the whole game." - Vicente del Bosque

I don't think he will be on each one of your list, but is surely the player who controls Barcelona game. This season he has looked a bit of form and this is the reason why Barcelona are struggling to defend the counters.

To win everything, Barca will expect some great performances from him and he is surely gonna do it.

#4 The Aerial Duel problems

Gerard Pique has been the leader of the Barcelona defence and is in form since the beginning of the year 2019. But unlike his international partner Sergio Ramos, he has not scored many goals in the Barcelona shirt. Lenglet or Vermaelen have not impressed by scoring goals. Every time Barcelona get a corner, it turns to an opposition counter-attack. Coutinho, Messi or Dembele, neither of them have been able to give good deliveries and the players inside the box have also been vulnerable.

Also when Barcelona defend against teams like Man United, Roma or any team with taller and more physical players, they struggle with aerial duels. They are not able to win the headers. I think that creates problem for defence and will have to be improved.

#3 Some players need to be rotated

Barcelona coach, Ernesto Valverde, would like to rotate his best players so that they are in the best form as well as injury free. This was one of the major reason why Barcelona were defeated by Roma last season in the Champions League. Players like Suarez complained in a press conference saying that he was not fully ready to play and needed some rest before.

This season, he has made some good rotations but he is not yet perfect at it. Players like Pique, who is the most important defender, have not been rotated. He is the only player in LaLiga to play every single match this season. Also, Suarez demanded some rest in the press conference after the draw against Athletic Bilbao.

With Samuel Umtiti almost fit, he will surely come back to the pitch soon. This will surely help Pique and Lenglet to rest, who had to play each and every game when both Umtiti and Vermaelen were injured. Pique can also be replaced by Murillo who is on loan from Valencia. Suarez could also be rested more now as the club has bought Kevin Boetang as a number 9. Also, Malcolm has performed well, so we can also see Messi as false 9 and any two of Coutinho, Dembele or Malcolm as wingers.

#2 Magic from the costly players

After the departure of Neymar, Barcelona had to spend some money to bring good quality attackers. They bought Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho to replace Neymar and Iniesta. Both of them are the costliest players in Barcelona history and have cost them around 280 million.

Yet these players have struggled to prove themselves. Dembele though has been in good form in patches this season, scoring some decisive goals at crucial moments and making some amazing runs and dribbles. Coutinho has failed to express himself and has been in miserable form. Not able to score those curlers, not able to give good passes he is known for, he has struggled much this season. Though he has been always backed-up by the coach, he and Dembele both have to be at their best for Barcelona to win the treble.

#1 The airlines and the GOAT

Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Leo Messi are arguably the best players of the team.

Ter Stegen making 79 saves this season, is one of the best goal keepers in the world. He has been a wall for the team. Named as "Stegen Airlines" by the Barcelona twitter account, he does everything to not allow the ball to go into the net.

Leo Messi, has scored 29 goals and providing 14 assists in just 29 matches this season, has been the key player in Barcelona wins. He has always performed and will always perform. He is the greatest player on the planet. He is on the top of charts at both goals scored and assists provided by a player in Laliga.

Both of them have been in great form and will have to be at their laser sharp best till the end of the season to lead Barcelona to win the treble.
