More snow expected to fall in region

More snow may be on tap for portions of northwest Wisconsin and northeast Minnesota, according to a hazardous weather outlook issued Monday by the National Weather Service in Duluth. Between one-half inch and three inches of snow are anticipated in northeast Minnesota Monday, with the heaviest totals in Itasca, northern Cass and northern Aitkin counties.

More snow is expected Tuesday through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. Anywhere between 1 to 5 inches of accumulation is possible, with the heaviest totals near the Brainerd Lakes, Iron Range and snowbelt region of northwest Wisconsin.
Snow fell on portions of the Northland Sunday. The Duluth International Airport reported 1.7 inches; the town of Gordon reported 1 inch, according to the National Weather Service.
