Neighborhood bar Night Owl is looking to expand somewhere in South Austin, according to co-owners Danny Parrott and Jonathan Insley. To help make that happen, they sold the lease to their downtown spot Old School Bar & Grill. The new owners, which consists of local people according to Parrott and Insley but weren’t named, will turn the East 6th Street space into a brand new bar.

Night Owl opened in Wooten this April, focusing on serving classic and signature cocktails, beer, wine, and ciders. Parrott and Insley worked with the neighborhood to make sure the bar was a friendly neighbor, where it won't host loud outdoor events. It doesn’t serve food either.

Parrot and Insley opened Old School Bar in October 2011 in the historical landmark the Cotton Exchange Building. The two-level bar includes a second floor patio that overlooks Dirty Sixth Street. The floor is from the Armadillo World Headquarters.
