Champian Fulton Quartet
Saturday, April 13, 8 p.m.

Not yet 30 years old, jazz pianist and vocalist Champian Fulton has already played many of NYC's esteemed jazz clubs and toured Europe. She will be performing in Chattanooga as part of a tour supporting her fifth CD. Her band will include Elias Bailey (bass), TKash (drums), and Stephen Fulton (flugelhorn). It will be an evening of fresh vocal and instrumental interpretations of classic tunes.
The Kevin Roberts Jazz Quartet featuring Nial Djuliarso
Friday, April 26, 8 p.m.

Multi-reed man Kevin Roberts was a mainstay of the late, lamented Jazz Junction. Nial is a McCallie grad who went on to Berklee and then Julliard, where his mentors included the great Kenny Barron. He's become a regular performer at Small's Jazz Club in NYC, one of the hottests clubs in the city.
Matthew Shipp Trio
Friday, May 10, 8 p.m.

A stalwart of the NY jazz scene since the mid-eighties, Matthew Shipp is surely one of the most respected and influential jazz artists of his generation. He has an instantly recognizable style on the piano, though his work spans an incredibly broad range of pursuits, from solo performances to collaboration with hip-hop artists to his long membership in the quartet of the late David S. Ware.
Evan Cobb Quintet plays the Music of Horace Silver

Transplanted from NYC to Nashville, tenor saxophonist Evan Cobb is one of the forces pushing jazz forward in Music City. Last year, his quintet did a beautiful job highlighting the music of Art Blakey. He is back to interpret the music of pianist and composer Horace Silver. The Steinway will be in the more than able hands of Bruce Dudley, and the rest of Evan's superb working and recording band will be on hand as well.
