Authorities in Hooper Bay say a weekend break-in at the local post office left several Holiday packages open and stolen.
Police Chief Patrick Lake confirmed the theft Tuesday. "A lot of Christmas presents were open," he added. Lake says it happened Sunday night at the Hooper Bay Post Office.
Officials say a postal inspector is scheduled to investigate later this week.
A Hooper Bay resident and Channel 2 News viewer says he hasn't been able to reach the post office this week. "It's hard to believe someone from a small village would take from the rest of us." He added.
