Elections 2018: See results of Central Minnesota legislative races
Results
Republicans won a special state Senate race to keep control of that chamber, and the Democrats took over the state House.
Most Central Minnesota races went for Republicans except House District 14B, which turned for Democrat Dan Wolgamott.
Senate District 13: Howe
The results of this race determined the party balance of the state Senate. Republican Jeff Howe and Democrat Joe Perske were on the ballot.

House District 13A: Demuth
Democrat Jim Read and Republican Lisa Demuth competed for this open Legislative seat.

House District 13B: O'Driscoll
Incumbent Republican Rep. Tim O'Driscoll was on the ballot with Democrat Heidi Everett.

House District 14A: Theis
It was a rematch in District 14A. Republican incumbent Rep. Tama Theis faced Democrat Aric Putnam on the ballot.
The two competed for the seat in 2016.

House District 14B: Wolgamott
Republican Rep. Jim Knoblach was on the ballot, although he didn't campaign for more than six weeks. He faced Democrat Dan Wolgamott.

House District 15A: Erickson
Long-time Republican incumbent Sondra Erickson hoped to win a 10th term in office. She faced Democrat and political newcomer Emy Minzel.

House District 15B: Mekeland
Three candidates ran to replace state Rep. Jim Newberger, who vacated the seat to run for U.S. Senate.
Those candidates included Republican Shane Mekeland, Democrat Karla Scapanski and Independent Myron Wilson.
