GREENVILLE CO., S.C. (WSPA) – A construction worker has died after an accident on the job, according to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office.
The accident happened at about 2:35 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1st.
The coroner says 64-year-old Leonico Quijada was pronounced dead on Tuesday, February 14th, at the Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Quijada was working at a home on Grove Road in Greer at the time of the accident, according to the coroner’s office.
They say the workers were using a pulley system to raise and lower pallets of bricks to different scaffolding levels when Quijada pulled on the rope to raise another pallet up to a co-worker, and the pulley came loose and dropped, striking Quijada on the head.
