Arnie Lefor, 62, of West Fargo, ND passed away on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016 at Sanford Health Palliative Care, surrounded by his family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Arnold Matthew Lefor was born Nov. 12, 1953 in Dickinson, ND to Peter and Minnie (Dvorak) Lefor. He grew up and graduated from high school in Lefor, ND. Arnie continued his schooling at Wahpeton State School of Science for his Auto Body Tech Degree, and Dickinson State to obtain his Operating Engineer Degree in Construction Management. He worked for American Contracting in Dickinson as a superintendent until moving to West Fargo in 2004. He then worked for Industrial Builders Inc. as a project superintendent of the Earthwork Division until his passing.

On May 18, 1978 Arnie married the love of his life, Marilyn Sticka, in Dickinson, ND. They were blessed with three wonderful children, Jason, Ryan and Rachel along with two grandchildren, Arnold and Camden. His family was always the pride of his life, and he took great joy in passing along the skills and knowledge of a life full of accomplishments. He spent his final days surrounded by his loved ones.

Arnie was very active at Holy Cross Catholic Church and was a Fourth Degree in the Knights of Columbus Assembly. He played an intricate role in the construction of the new Holy Cross facilities. He was well known for being a very busy, hands-on man of many talents. His passions included, camping with his family, gardening, maintaining his immaculate yard, caring for the fish in the pond he designed and constructed with his own hands, cooking, grilling, and hosting family, neighbors and friends for numerous fish fry events and social gatherings. He was always the life of the party and will be missed by so many.

Arnie leaves behind the family he loved so dearly. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; three children, Jason (Jana) and their son, Arnold of West Fargo; Ryan (Caylee) and their son, Camden of Fargo; Rachel (Chris) Kollitz of Moorhead; mother, Minnie Lefor of Dickinson; sisters, Connie (Bill) Milder of Hudson, WI; Betsy (Dwight) Grismer of Byron, MN; Gale (Kurt) Robinson of Dickinson; brothers, Kenny (Carol) of South Heart; Greg (Les) of Dickinson; Jeff (Tanna) of Mandan, and mother-in-law Rose Sticka of Dickinson, along with numerous sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws and many nieces and nephews.

Arnie was preceded in death by his father, Pete; infant brother, Bobby; father-in-law, Mike Sticka, and several sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws.

Visitation will be Monday, November 14th at Holy Cross Catholic Church in West Fargo from 5 to 7 p.m. with a vigil service following at 7 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 15th at Holy Cross Catholic Church in West Fargo. Rite of committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in South Fargo.
