Patricia Morris and Billy Ray Gibson were united in marriage on June 14, 1958, at the Baptist Tabernacle in Atlanta. Since exchanging nuptials, the couple has lived in Atlanta from 1958 to 1960 and Jacksonville from 1960 to 1966. Mr. Gibson was the vice president for administration at Sea Island and also worked at the Five Star Credit Union before retiring in 2017. He helped create the Resort Hotel Insurance Group and served on the boards of Wycliffe Associates and the Open Doors ministry.
Mrs. Gibson has volunteered for over 20 years on Georgia PTA board of managers, the Georgia Board of Nursing as a consumer/non-nurse member, the Glynn County Board of Education, and is currently chairman of the Glynn County Board of Elections and registration. She also created and writes Pew News in The Islander each week. Patricia and Billy are active members of Frederica Baptist Church on St. Simons Island. They have enjoyed travel all of the world and have visited 47 US states.
