Clearwater Firefighters Collecting Toys For Hospitalized Kids

Clearwater firefighters are hoping to brighten the holidays for children who will spend Christmas in the hospital this year.

CLEARWATER, FL -- Clearwater firefighters are hoping to brighten the holidays for children who will spend Christmas in the hospital this year.

Clearwater Fire & Rescue Department personnel will be at Walmart at U.S. 19 and State Road 590 on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 14-15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days. Shoppers can drop off toys, gifts or cash for the effort.

The gifts will be taken to children at Mease Countryside Hospital, 3231 McMullen Booth Road, on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 9:30 p.m.

Santa, who moonlights as a Clearwater firefighter, will be among those visiting the hospital.
